What is a softwall cleanroom?
A
softwall cleanroom is a portable, tent-like cleanroom constructed with flexible soft wall panels — typically clear vinyl curtains — hanging from a structural frame. Softwall cleanrooms are lightweight, easy to assemble, and can be installed as freestanding structures or hung from the ceiling of your building. They are generally smaller and more portable than
hardwall cleanrooms and are an ideal solution for quickly expanding cleanroom operations or creating a temporary controlled environment.
What is the difference between a softwall and hardwall cleanroom?
Hardwall cleanrooms use rigid, demountable wall panels to fully enclose the space — providing better contamination control, suitable for temperature and humidity control, and recommended for ISO Class 5-8. Softwall cleanrooms use flexible vinyl curtain walls — they are more portable, easier and faster to set up, lower cost, and better suited for less demanding cleanliness requirements or temporary use. Softwall cleanrooms are generally smaller and not suitable for applications requiring tight temperature, humidity, or pressure control.
What ISO classes are softwall cleanrooms rated for?
Clean Air Products' softwall cleanrooms are available from Class 100,000 (ISO Class 8) to Class 10 (ISO Class 4), depending on the
fan filter unit configuration and room design.

What are the advantages of a softwall cleanroom?
Advantages of softwall cleanrooms include: lower cost than hardwall modular cleanrooms, faster assembly and installation, lightweight and portable design (can be moved, disassembled, and stored), ability to be hung from the ceiling or installed as a freestanding unit, easy to fit into tight spaces, and an ideal solution for quickly expanding cleanroom capacity or creating a temporary cleanroom. Clean Air Products' softwall cleanrooms offer excellent ROI and reduced downtime compared to conventional construction.
